This past week, EYElliance was honored to participate in 2030 IN SIGHT LIVE in Kathmandu, Nepal — the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness’ flagship global event focused on achieving universal access to eye health by 2030.

Representing EYElliance, Maggie Savage Dawson joined a vibrant community of global leaders, advocates, and innovators all working toward one shared mission: ensuring equitable access to eye care — including eyeglasses — for everyone, everywhere.
Throughout the week, we engaged in rich conversations and forged meaningful connections with longtime collaborators, including CBM Christian Blind Mission and the OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation. These moments underscore a central truth: transformational change happens when organizations align around shared goals and take action together.

A standout moment from the conference was hearing The Right Honourable Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli, Prime Minister of Nepal, deliver opening remarks. His strong commitment to prioritizing eye health within Nepal’s national development agenda was both inspiring and affirming — a testament to what’s possible when political will meets a clear vision for the future.
As we continue our work to build an investable, inclusive optical sector, we leave Kathmandu more energized than ever. Together, we are creating a world where eyeglasses are accessible, affordable, and available to all.
